The Provincial High Court of Las Palmas has acquitted the former Mayor of Betancuria, Marcelino Sardinia, and the municipal official Judith Marichal of the electoral offence for which they were tried by the Criminal Court No. 2 of Arrecife, based in Puerto del Rosario, on October 13, 2025. Against the said sentence, it was filed for both appeal to the Provincial High Court, which has now ruled in their favour.
