The Presidency does not support the proposal to return to the requirement to pass two matriculation exams in order to obtain secondary education. According to Jūratė Litvinaitė, an advisor to the country's leader Gitanas Nausėda, the regulation that will enter into force in September, according to which it will be necessary to pass three exams, should not be withdrawn.
"The president is convinced that such constant alternation - now two, now three (...) - certainly does not help schools, school leaders, students, or families feel safer. Therefore, we would think that we should not rush to change. Perhaps we can discuss postponing it, but, nevertheless, three exams should definitely remain," the presidential advisor said during a meeting of the Seimas Education and Science Committee held on Wednesday.
