The Other Bennet Sister Shares New Glimpse of Its Christmas Special - See Images
The three-part special follows Mary into married life as an unexpected visitor from her past forces her to confront her new identity.
- The BBC released first-look images for the upcoming three-part Christmas special of The Other Bennet Sister, featuring Ella Bruccoleri as Mary and Dónal Finn as her husband, Tom Hayward. Production recently wrapped in Wales.
- Based on author Janice Hadlow's 2020 novel, the series reimagines Jane Austen's 1813 Pride and Prejudice. After premiering early last year, it became a breakout BBC hit, reaching 9.5 million viewers with a 98 per cent Rotten Tomatoes score.
- The special explores Mary's new identity as Mrs. Hayward when an unexpected visitor from her past seeks help. Returning cast includes Ruth Jones as Mrs. Bennet and Tanya Reynolds as Caroline Bingley; newcomer Nerys Amber Stocks joins as housekeeper Lucy.
- Screenwriter Sarah Quintrell, who penned nine of the original series' ten episodes, wrote all three installments of the special. Producer Edoardo Ferretti announced filming concluded in Wales at the end of October.
- The special will air on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK, and BritBox in the US and Canada. While an exact release date remains unannounced, the show expands the Pride and Prejudice world for audiences globally.
