The birth of the Second Republic

Two ideas. One, that when History (in capital letters) advances as a gale leaves thousands dead in the gutters. The other, that to tell the story (in lower case) it is necessary to approach each person to try to know what really happened, how each one lived what was happening.

On 27 April 1945 – and thus even before the end of the war – the provisional state government signed the proclamation of Austria's independence – the second republic was founded.
