Who will be the new pope? How the conclave works and how many times will there be a vote
On Wednesday, May 7, the conclave, the electoral assembly of 135 cardinals, will begin to decide who will become the 267th pope. The cardinals vote in the Sistine Chapel, except on the first day, twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon. The ballots with the names are burned in the stove each time, and the election process is always secret. The candidate who is agreed upon by two-thirds of the voters is elected pope.
