THE GOVERNMENT of the Republic of Croatia, the City of Zagreb and the Zagreb Architects' Association will tomorrow present the first-prize winning entry in the international architectural and urban planning competition for the new Maksimir Stadium and the Svetice Sports and Recreation Center.
Croatian champion Dinamo (Zagreb) presented its project for a new stadium, which will be built on the site of the current "Maksimir".
The presentation of the winning architectural solution for the new Maksimir has sparked numerous reactions in Croatia. Some fans and the public were particularly disturbed by the stadium's appearance, and especially the fact that the four stands are separated from each other.
The results of the competition will be announced by the president of the Zagreb Society of Architects, Ana Boljar, the president of the Jury, Toma Plejić, and the members of the Jury, which includes Zvonimir Boban, the Mayor of Zagreb, Tomislav Tomašević, and the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Tonči Glavina.
The winning solution for the new Dinamo stadium will be revealed tomorrow. The new Maksimir should have 35,000 covered seats and supporting facilities
