The Montreal Victoire make their homecoming after winning Walter Cup
Marie-Philip Poulin hoisted the trophy as Montreal became the first Canadian team to win the Professional Women's Hockey League title.
On Wednesday, the Montreal Victoire defeated the Charge 4-0 in Ottawa, securing the Walter Cup as the first Canadian team to win the Professional Women's Hockey League championship.
Returning to Montreal on Thursday, the team hoisted the trophy on home soil for the first time in their history, marking a franchise milestone.
At the Verdun Auditorium, enthusiastic fans welcomed the victorious players, returning to the venue where the team played its inaugural home games when the league was founded in 2023.
Despite a knee injury sustained during the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games in February, star player Marie-Philip Poulin said she had her "ups and downs" this season.
The championship roster plans to celebrate their title and rest before preparations begin for the 2026-27 season.
