The City Council of Lugo has chosen Sonsoles Ónega as the pregonera of San Froilán 2026. The journalist, presenter and winner of the Planet Prize will be in charge of officially inaugurating the festivities on October 4, in a year in which the city will also have Sandra Piñeiro, president of the Provincial High Court of Lugo, as responsible for the traditional offering to Rosalía de Castro during Domingo das Mozas, on October 11.
In 2015 he proclaimed Easter and visited the city for the last time last August, when his father, Fernando Ónega, was named the Adoptive Son of Lugo.
