Alfaro will join the IDB’s research department with the aim of implementing the IDBImpact+ vision by integrating economic analysis more directly into operations, policies and strategies. He will replace Eric Parrado, who will take the position of IDB Invest’s CEO for Central America, Mexico, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
Costa Rican Laura Alfaro Maykall, former Minister of National Planning, was appointed as chief economist and economic adviser of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), as announced by the entity on June 3.
