The reduction of less than half the number of demonstrators present in 2024 confirmed the trend of the recent years of demobilising independenceists in Catalunha.
As the organizers themselves said, the demonstration called by the ANC and other independent organizations on the occasion of the Day has brought together less than half of the attendees that last year. La Guàrdia Urbana has numbered 28,000 people who have decided to join the call. Today's crisis, organized as usual by the National Catalan Assembly, a platform of civil society, confirmed the trend of the last years of the demobilization of independenceists in Catalunha (Northern Spain) on 11 September, when the day of the region is celebrated, known as Díaa. The 62 thousand people who were in Barcelona last year were also almost half of the 115 thousand of 2023.
The commemoration gathers half that in 2024 (60,000) and far below 115,000 of 2023
