The harvest of geographically protected Maraş peppers, grown on approximately 12,000 decares in Kahramanmaraş, has begun. While a production of 30,000 tons is expected this year, the peppers are dried and processed into various products.
Harvesting of Maraş peppers, which are grown on approximately 10,000 decares of land in Kahramanmaraş and have a registered geographical indication, has begun. The Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Ramazan Bilir, stated that they expect a yield of 22,000 tons this year and that the peppers are exported to 8 countries.
