Romania's new pro-European government was confirmed by the parliament on Monday. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan agreed in his inaugural speech on a hard austerity course: Romania has the highest budget deficit of all EU countries. Bolojan wants to reduce the number of state employees, cap civil servants' wages and abolish privileges. More investments are to be channelled into health and education.
Authorities are trying to avoid a retrograde of our country in the "junk" category, which is not recommended for investment.
