DUBAI, UAE, JUL 10 – Huawei's Pura 80 Ultra features the industry's first Switchable Dual Telephoto Camera and up to 16GB RAM, marking a key step in its effort to regain premium smartphone market share.
- Huawei launched its Pura 80 series, consisting of the Pura 80, 80 Pro, and 80 Ultra, at a Dubai event on Thursday, July 11, 2025.
- This launch follows Huawei’s 2024 rebranding of the Pura series and represents its effort to revive its handset business amid ongoing US sanctions limiting app support.
- The Pura 80 Ultra features a 6.8-inch quad-curved LTPO OLED with 120Hz refresh rate, a 1-inch Ultra Lighting HDR main camera, and a 1/1.28-inch periscope telephoto sensor with switchable 3.7x to 9.4x zoom.
- Huawei CBG Peter Feng described the series as "defining the future of mobile imaging," highlighting onboard AI that processes images offline and camera hardware capturing 16 stops of dynamic range.
