Winter weather has arrived in the Tatra Mountains and isn't letting up. Conditions are challenging in the mountains, with several centimeters of snow already lying in some areas. Forecasts indicate the snowfall isn't over yet.
It seems like it was just summer, and winter has already arrived in the Tatras. At least the first snow has already whitened the peaks and bodies of water beloved by Lithuanians.
Although it's still technically summer, winter has already arrived in the Tatra Mountains. Snow has fallen in the higher elevations, and conditions on the trails are challenging. Kasprowy Wierch is covered in several centimeters of snow! Unique shots have appeared on social media.
There are already several inches of snow in the highest parts.
With only one day left until the astronomical start of autumn, winter weather has already reached the highest peaks of Poland's Tatra Mountains. The first snow of the season fell here on Monday, and temperatures on the mountaintops dropped below freezing, Polish international news network TVP World reports.
The coming days will bring changeable weather in Poland with fleeting rainfall, storms and gusty wind. It will also be quite cold. In the higher parts of the mountains the conditions will be winter — in the Tatras snowfall and a significant increase in snow cover are forecast.
