On Saturday, EU tariffs on 80 percent of goods imported from Armenia will be lifted. The bloc aims to support the Armenian economy, which is struggling under restrictions imposed by Russia.

The EU will provide Armenia with temporary trade preferences to support local producers and exporters, and announced on Friday to the European Commission's press service. "These measures, which will enter into force tomorrow (10 October - IF) for two years, provide for the temporary liberalization of almost 80 per cent of Armenian exports to the EU.

From October 10, and for the next two years, Armenia will have easier access to the EU market for its agricultural and alcohol products, but with a number of reservations and limits, as announced by the European Commission.
