The plenary session of the European Parliament was in favour of the Brussels idea of imposing a EUR 2 tariff on purchases made on low-cost online platforms, such as Chinese Shein and Temu, provided that the payment of this new tax on small value purchases made from non-EU suppliers is not taken over by the final consumer and is made in accordance with the rules of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
