The Council of Europe Called on the Hungarian Parliament to Suspend the Draft Law on Major Cleaning

According to the monitoring committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, PACE, the draft law submitted by János Halász (Fidesz) would make the operation and even the existence of civil society organizations and independent media impossible, and therefore they called on the Hungarian Parliament to suspend the discussion of the legislation.

They believe this law would make it impossible for civil society organizations and independent media to operate.
