The City of Fort Madison is increasing the base pay of non-union employees. The council voted 5-2 this week to increase base by by 5% for those employees in the next fiscal year budget. That’s the third straight such increase. A 3% increase that was pitched by the budget committee was narrowly defeated. Pen City Current reports that Council members bumped up the raise after seeing the raises approved for union employees.
