Angola's Central Bank Calls for Continued Efforts to Reduce and Stabilise Inflation Rate
Luanda -- National Bank of Angola (BNA) Governor Manuel Tiago Dias on Wednesday called on economic agents in Luanda to continue working to sustain the downward trend and stabilisation of the country's inflation rate.
Market participants reported that their expectations for year-end inflation had increased compared to the previous month, and that exchange rate expectations had also risen.
The Central Bank's August Market Participants Survey included upward revisions to year-end inflation and exchange rate expectations.
The most important indicator of core inflation rose to 3.1% year-on-year, the National Bank of Poland (NBP) reported. This information is of much greater interest to Monetary Policy Council members than the CPI inflation rate itself.
According to the Central Bank's Market Participants Survey, the dollar is now estimated to be 57.42 TL in 12 months, representing an upward trend. Inflation expectations have also climbed to 29.43%.
According to the CBRT's August Market Participants Survey, year-end inflation expectations rose to 29.43%, and the dollar exchange rate forecast increased to 51.66 TL. The expectation for the policy interest rate at the September Monetary Policy Committee meeting was recorded at 37%. In the survey, the 12-month forward exchange rate expectation rose to 57.43 TL, while the GDP growth expectation for 2026 remained unchanged at 3.1%.
