The Central Bank of Turkey's (TCMB) total reserves decreased by $4.319 billion in the week of September 18 compared to the previous week. Thus, total reserves fell to $174.405 billion.
While the Central Bank of Turkey's reserves dwindled by $4.3 billion during the week of the funding crisis, foreign investors withdrew from stocks and bonds. In the markets, the Istanbul Stock Exchange fell by more than 2%, the Dollar/TL climbed to its highest level in the last month at 48.86, and the price of gold stabilized at around 6,716 TL per gram.
