The most striking of the Asturian beaches in recent summers are the Portuguese carabels that arrive in heaps through the Cantabrian Sea. It is a species that has been sighted on the coast of more than fourteen Asturian councils, so it already constitutes a real threat on which bathers must become aware.

During yesterday’s day, the Basque beaches recorded two bites of Portuguese carabels, compared to the thirteen recorded the previous day, according to the Health Department.
