- On Oct 17, FC Barcelona received the first occupancy license for phase 1A, allowing Spotify Camp Nou to reopen with a provisional capacity of 27,000 spectators, sources at Barcelona City Council said.
- Amid the licensing delay, Barcelona chose to remain at Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium as 1A approval came close to phase 1B, allowing higher revenues and more operational testing.
- City regulators approved access to specific sections, namely stands behind the goals and the lower tier of the south end, while phase 1B includes side stands UEFA requires for Champions League matches.
- This coming week the Olympic venue will stage Barcelona's next two home matches against Girona in LaLiga on Saturday and Olympiacos in the Champions League on Oct. 21, while venues for November games remain unconfirmed.
- With construction complete, officials say remaining steps are permits and validation, and Elena Fort said the reopening will help the club recover emotionally and financially with hopes for phase 1B approval soon.
