The arrival of La Sofia with the first major wave of Italians celebrates 150 years

On January 3, 1874, a three-masted sailboat, with the name of La Sofia, left the port of Genoa with about 400 Italians living in the north of the country. Accompanied by a doctor and a priest, the group said goodbye to the harsh winter and arrived, 45 days later, in the summer of Vitória, in the Holy Spirit. Read more (02/16/2024)
