The Argentine government has banned Colgate Total Clean Mint toothpaste for causing oral irritation, including blisters, canker sores, burning, swelling, and pain.
The measure was published in the Official Gazette. According to the agency, it was based on local and international records that alerted about symptoms such as pain, irritation and oral injuries after use.
This is the Colgate Total Clean Mint variant which reported more than 11,000 cases of adverse effects in Brazil and at least 21 in Argentina; the measure was published in the Official Gazette under Regulation 5126/2025.
