Photographers from 108 countries submitted nearly 10,000 images to highlight wildlife humor and conservation in the 2025 Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards.
- On Oct. 22, the Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards announced 40 finalists for its 2025 competition after judges reviewed nearly 10,000 entries from 108 countries, including three portfolios and ten videos.
- Founded in 2015 by Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE and Tom Sullam, the awards blend wildlife photography and humor while donating 10 percent of net revenue to the Whitley Fund for Nature.
- The competition noted that finalist images include a dancing gorilla, smoking duck and lion photo, with an authentic images rule forbidding AI or digital manipulation and individual photographer credits.
- The winners will be announced on December 9 at an Awards Night in London, with all awarded works exhibited at Gallery@Oxo from December 10-14.
- Nikon Senior General Manager Stefan Maier said `These images combine wit and wonder to celebrate nature’s character, while emphasizing the urgency of conservation` in the competition, which includes youth categories and a public vote between December 10, 2025, and March 1, 2026.
