568 Schemes in 100 Days, Says CM; Govt to Launch ‘Jana Sparsham’ Drive to Clear Pending Files
The government said 96.5% of planned works were done and launched a file adalat to clear 2.76 lakh pending e-files.
- On Friday, Keralam Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan announced the successful completion of 568 of 588 projects under the government's 100-day action plan. He also launched "Janasparsham," a File Adalat initiative running from October 15 to December 31 to clear pending government files.
- Initially targeting 602 projects, the government removed several items after feasibility reviews to overcome obstacles. Satheesan noted that 96.5% of the 588 targeted projects reached completion, with the remaining 20 schemes showing more than 90% progress.
- Addressing the backlog, the Chief Minister said officials will use the File Adalat to resolve more than 2.76 lakh pending e-files. The initiative aims to identify why matters remain unresolved and prevent future delays by improving interdepartmental coordination.
- Concurrent with administrative reforms, the government launched development projects worth Rs 510 crore at Vizhinjam, including Rs 260 crore for a new fishing harbour and Rs 35 crore in compensation distributed to 2,000 fishermen.
- Digital University Kerala assisted the government in launching a new public portal to monitor project progress transparently. Satheesan also plans to strengthen palliative care services and introduce a bill for senior citizen welfare in the Legislative Assembly.
