THAILAND, AUG 5 – Thailand's Cabinet approved 18.5 billion baht in economic stimulus and compensation totaling 405 million baht for families and injured victims after July border clashes with Cambodia.
- On Tuesday, Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai announced that the cabinet approved 405 million baht in compensation for those affected between July 16 and Aug 2.
- The Royal Thai Armed Forces reported that clashes between July 24 and 28 stemmed from what Thailand described as repeated provocations by Cambodia, causing 15 soldiers and 17 civilians deaths.
- The Cabinet approved a 10 million baht payment to families of government officials and eight million baht for families of Thai civilians who died, with injuries receiving up to 1 million and 800,000 baht respectively.
