Immigration authorities have ordered strict measures to prevent Cambodians from using visa-free entry into Thailand, and to screen out high-risk foreigners, including those suspected of being mercenaries. They revealed that since the beginning of the month, 185 individuals have been denied entry.

The Commerce Ministry revealed that the Thai-Cambodian conflict has had a short-term impact on border trade, but believes the crisis can be overcome. It also anticipates that restrictions at the Chong Mek border crossing will be eased soon.
