Thai airports have been ordered to strictly screen all Cambodian nationals entering Thailand under the visa-free scheme and to also tighten checks against foreign mercenaries entering the country, amid the escalating conflict at the border.
The Commerce Ministry revealed that the Thai-Cambodian conflict has had a short-term impact on border trade, but believes the crisis can be overcome. It also anticipates that restrictions at the Chong Mek border crossing will be eased soon. Regarding tourism, foreign visitors continue to arrive in Thailand, with the number expected to exceed 32 million by the end of December. (At 4:00 PM)
