Hungarian Tesla owners are urging the government to approve Full Self-Driving Supervised before an EU-wide decision, as seven member states, most recently Czechia, have already moved ahead. The appeal comes as Tesla’s regional performance grows uneven, while Chinese carmakers gain ground and European rivals close gaps in range, charging and pricing, making software increasingly important for the company.
Tesla's FSD (Fast Drive System) has reached a critical stage in the European approval process. The German Federal Ministry of Transport announced that the file regarding the exceptional permit granted by the Netherlands is being reviewed by the German Federal Motor Vehicle Authority. The ministry stated that the recognition of FSD across Europe is expected to be discussed at the EU Motor Vehicle Technical Committee in October 2026.
There is another country in Europe approving Tesla's supervised autonomous driving (FSD). This time, it was the Chequia that advanced, joining almost six countries that have done so since April.
