A new generation thermal management system has begun to be integrated into the Model Y vehicles manufactured at the Berlin Gigafactory. The company is implementing this change without formal announcement.
Tesla is implementing a critical hardware revision for its popular SUV model, the Model Y. Model Y vehicles produced at the Gigafactory Berlin in Germany are now being integrated with the brand's new generation thermal management architecture, Super Manifold V2. This hardware change, first spotted on a "Coastal Blue" Model Y Standard model released on August 27th, will improve range during winter months.
Tesla has begun a significant hardware upgrade to the Model Y's thermal management system. The Super Manifold V2, which started appearing in vehicles produced at Giga Berlin at the end of August, is expected to reduce energy consumption, especially in cold weather, and speed up battery and motor cooling. Tesla has not yet released official data on the system's contribution to range and charging time.
