- Last quarter, sales plunged 13% due to backlash to Elon Musk’s politics, an aging lineup and tougher competition; Troy Jones departed after 15 years earlier this month.
- The IT executive had no traditional sales experience, earlier this year he became vice president for IT/AI infrastructure, apps and information security, and in recent months took over vehicle-service operations.
- On Friday, Tesla’s stock climbed 3%, and Omead Afshar departed his North America and Europe sales and manufacturing role.
