Tesla Giga Berlin growth could stall if not “free from external influences”: Elon Musk
- Tesla CEO Elon Musk warned employees that Giga Berlin's future expansion is under threat from outside organizations, saying, "Things certainly get harder if there are outside organizations who are pushing Tesla in the wrong direction".
- After the recording allegation, Tesla filed a criminal complaint against a union member on February 10, and both sides agreed not to repeat allegations until the works council election next Wednesday.
- Giga Berlin senior director Andre Thierig posted on X an interview where Musk said Tesla would "ideally" expand the site for battery cells, Cybercab robotaxi, and Optimus but added, "We're not going to shut down the factory, but we wouldn't expand it either".
- The upcoming ballot will decide who negotiates pay and hours at the plant, as IG Metall is pushing to control the works council and Jan Otto said they can now "concentrate fully on the issues".
- Tesla's European sales have collapsed, with registrations down nearly 38% last year and January sales falling to just 8,000 units, European Automobile Manufacturers Association data shows.
