According to a SNCF trade union, currently circulating TERs contain asbestos, the health hazards of which are well known. This is the case of the old Coral train which connects Paris with Clermont-Ferrand. This asbestos is not directly in contact with travellers or agents, but is a problem when it is necessary to repair or maintain the trains.
