Teenager arrested on suspicion of murder after missing man found dead in Plymouth
A 19-year-old suspect remains in custody after a fast-paced murder inquiry following the discovery of Drew Perham's body in Plymouth's Millbay Marina.
- On Sunday, Devon and Cornwall Police said a body was found near Millbay Marina and a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of 24-year-old Drew Perham, reported missing after a night out on Friday.
- Overnight searches prompted officers to establish a cordon on Soap Street, near Millbay Marina, and an initial attempted-murder arrest was upgraded to suspicion of murder as police asked people in the Millbay area between 01:00 GMT and 04:00 GMT on Saturday to come forward.
- Devon and Cornwall Police said `Detectives are appealing for information following the suspicious death of a man in Plymouth` and urged anyone with details to call 101 quoting reference 50260019981 or Crimestoppers on 0800 55511.
- Formal identification is yet to take place, but Drew's family have been informed and supported by specially trained officers as the suspect remains in custody and police urge no speculation.
- Pictures from January 25 show police officers and a police diving and marine unit vehicle at the scene, with local reports confirming a major presence in the King Point Marina area.
