Teenage Girl Dies After Being Found Seriously Injured on West Yorkshire Road
Police say the 16-year-old was the victim of a fail-to-stop collision, and a 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
On Saturday, October 3, 16-year-old Nadia Mucha died in hospital after being found seriously injured on Rooks Nest Road in Wakefield on Tuesday, September 29, at approximately 8:33 p.m.
Police investigations concluded the teenager was the victim of a fail-to-stop road traffic collision; detectives now believe a vehicle struck her and fled the scene without stopping.
Following enquiries by West Yorkshire Police's Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, a 25-year-old man was arrested on Monday, October 5, on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Elly Buchanan of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team said, "We are continuing to support Nadia's family through this horrific time and are working at pace to find them the answers they deserve."
