Teen seriously injured after Dudley machete attack
Police say the 16-year-old victim underwent surgery and remains in a serious but stable condition as officers review CCTV and mobile footage.
On Saturday, a 16-year-old boy was seriously injured after being attacked with a machete on Duncan Edwards Close in Dudley, when two men on a moped allegedly approached and attacked him before fleeing the scene.
West Midlands Police launched an investigation after the teenager underwent surgery and remains in serious but stable condition, with officers currently reviewing recovered CCTV and mobile phone footage to identify suspects.
Detective Inspector Joe Davenport of the Major Crime Unit stated the victim "could easily" have lost his life, adding that officers are working to establish the full circumstances and motive behind the attack.
Extra patrols are taking place in the area while authorities urge witnesses to come forward, with the public able to provide information by calling 101, quoting log 2561.
Police continue their manhunt for the two suspects, as this incident follows separate machete attacks reported earlier this month, highlighting intensifying knife violence across the region.
