- On August 1, Giovanni Pelletier, an 18-year-old teenager, disappeared in Mims, Florida, and has been missing for nearly a week, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
- While visiting Englewood, Florida, with his mother and her fiancé, Pelletier planned to reconnect with relatives from his biological father’s family and see three cousins, his aunt said.
- In Bardenton, Florida, his family said he was abandoned on the side of the road, with his backpack and phone found the same day by a truck driver.
- Authorities have received many tips that unfortunately turned out to be inaccurate, as of Thursday, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said they do not have any updates and ask for information.
- Desiree Pelletier, his aunt, noted the family does not believe this is a runaway and that `something is not told right`, suspecting the behavior is not Gio's usual conduct.
