Teacher 'stabbed in the head by pupil' relives moment every day, court hears
Prosecutors say the 15-year-old brought a kitchen knife to class and intended to kill the teacher, while the defence says the injuries were accidental.
A 16-year-old boy went on trial at Swansea Crown Court, facing attempted murder charges after allegedly stabbing teacher Vicki Williams at Milford Haven Comprehensive School on February 5.
Prosecutors allege the student planned the February 5 incident, deliberately isolating Williams in an empty classroom before launching a "sustained attack" with a "large kitchen knife."
Defense counsel Matthew Roberts KC argues the injuries were accidental, occurring when the boy refused to hand over the weapon, though he previously admitted possessing a knife on school grounds.
Testimony described a "violent struggle" where Williams "screamed blue murder" and successfully disarmed the attacker, who then fled the scene before his arrest.
Presided over by Judge Paul Thomas KC, the trial is expected to last three weeks and will examine forensic evidence, including DNA and fingerprints found on the knife.
