The controversy surrounding the life-size statue of popular leader Tantya Mama Bhil in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, has now erupted into a major corruption scandal. The order for the statue was initially for a metal or stone statue, but a cheaper fiber statue was installed instead. On September 24, 2025, the municipality approved beautification work worth ₹40 lakh (approximately ₹990,000), which included the installation of the statue.
