COVID-19 Day of Reflection: What and when is the Day of Reflection? And how to get involved
The UK will hold a nationwide Day of Reflection on March 9, 2025, marking five years since the COVID pandemic began.
An estimated 180,000 people died from COVID in England and Wales between March 2020 and July 2022, according to The King's Fund.
Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy stated that the day provides an "opportunity to remember the friends and loved ones that we lost, as well as the sacrifices that so many people made."
Local councils and community groups have organized various events, including a procession at the National COVID Memorial Wall and a minute's silence at Euston Station.
