Switzerland Defender Aurèle Amenda Joins Coventry for Club's Premier League Return
On Thursday, Switzerland defender Aurele Amenda signed with newly promoted Premier League club Coventry after returning from the World Cup, where his team reached the quarterfinals.
Amenda developed at Young Boys, winning Swiss league titles in 2023 and 24 before joining Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, where he made 42 appearances and played in the Champions League.
Coventry signed the 22-year-old on a four-year contract, with a reported transfer fee of 18 million euros paid to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Under manager Frank Lampard, the Sky Blues won the English Championship last season and will compete in the Premier League for the first time since 2001.
Amenda expressed confidence in the move, saying "I felt the trust" and emphasizing his desire to help the team succeed while remaining calm with the ball.
