Olympic, World and European champion David Popovici (CS Dinamo) won the 100m free race on Saturday at the National Swimming Championships hosted by the Otopeni Swimming Sports Complex.
The Romanian Federation of Swimming and Pentatlon Modern awarded them, on Saturday, the best athletes and coaches of last year, based on the results obtained at the most important international competitions. The ceremony took place at the Sporting Swimming Complex in Otopeni, where the National Championship takes place these days.
The world star has no rival in its own field.
David Popovici also won a gold medal at the National Championship for Seniors, Youth and Juniors (50-metre pool) on Saturday, placing himself in the final at 100 m free.
