Prime Minister Robert Golob has proposed to the presidents of parliamentary parties a resolution to annul the consultative referendum on defense spending. According to him, the Svoboda Party has already submitted the resolution.

The Slovenian government wants to scrap the proposed referendums on NATO membership and the associated significantly higher defense budget. According to the STA news agency, Prime Minister Robert Golob believes parliament should reverse the latter referendum. Then the other referendum can be scrapped as well.
