San Jose Police arrested a suspect after a gang-related shooting injured three people at Valley Fair Mall on Black Friday, police said.
- On Monday, December 1, 2025, San Jose police announced an arrest after the Nov. 28 shooting at Westfield Valley Fair Mall outside the women's Macy's at about 5:30 p.m.
- Investigators say a verbal altercation escalated when the man who pulled a firearm fired several rounds, and police said the gunfire stemmed from an individual clash not targeting shoppers.
- Witnesses described hearing eight to 10 shots and then fleeing as a man involved in the fight, a woman and a 16-year-old girl were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
- The Valley Fair Mall reopened Saturday with increased security and a noticeable police presence, while the San Jose Police Department shared a photo Monday of a person in handcuffs.
- SJPD said 'Initial information revealed the incident to be gang-motivated; however, the circumstances remain under investigation,' and it located and arrested a suspect Sunday night, posting 'Ladies and gentlemen, we got him.
