EPA delays $50M for lead pipe replacement
BOSTON — The Trump administration is holding back $50 million to remove underground lead pipes from drinking water systems in Massachusetts as it conducts a review of federal spending, state officials said Tuesday.
Superior has the state’s only private water utility. It’s making it harder to replace lead pipes.
Congress provided billions of dollars to help communities remove lead pipes under the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure law. The funding will help water systems pay for those projects.
