'I Deserve This hate...': Pranit More Issues Public Apology After 'Rs 370 Biryani' Row
Pranit More said he got carried away and should have challenged the remarks after the clip drew backlash and a police case.
On Saturday, stand-up comedian Pranit More posted an apology on Instagram for his 'Rs 370 biryani' crowd-work clip, admitting he got 'carried away' and experienced a 'lapse in judgement' during the interaction.
The controversy erupted after audience member Himanshu Jangra claimed at a show that spending Rs 370 on a date entitled him to 'physical intimacy,' remarks More laughed at as 'Peak Gurgaon content.'
On Thursday , Maharashtra Cyber Police registered an FIR against More, Jangra, and Dr Sejal Pawar under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Information Technology Act for allegedly disseminating obscene content.
The National Commission for Women took suo motu cognisance of the show, citing concerns over content trivializing gender-based violence, and summoned More and Jangra to appear on June 22.
More is cooperating with authorities regarding legal proceedings and has appealed for a second chance, stating he is working on himself and will improve his content moving forward.
