In the Sudan, the state of Western Kordofan has been experiencing fierce fighting for several weeks between the army and the paramilitaries of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). In response to the advance of the army that conquered last week the strategic city of Bara, located on the road linking El Facher, capital of Northern Darfur, to Khartoum, the SRF targeted military positions and infrastructure in the south of the country on 14 September.
