Almost simultaneously, forest fires broke out in the Volos province, Attica region, and Salamina island of Greece. While aerial and ground efforts to combat the fires have begun, the fire department announced yesterday that 41 fires had broken out in forested and agricultural areas in the previous 24 hours.
