On Tuesday, Teyana Taylor addressed online commentary regarding her performance at Jay-Z's Yankee Stadium residency. The Grammy-nominated entertainer appeared onstage Sunday during the "Extra Innings" concert to sing the chorus of "Can't Knock the Hustle."
Jay-Z celebrated his career with three nights at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York, from July 10 to 12. The residency honored the 30th anniversary of "Reasonable Doubt" and the 25th anniversary of "The Blueprint."
Following technical issues during her Sunday performance, Taylor addressed online criticism. Writing on Instagram, she stated, "The gratitude was louder than any mic could ever be," explaining that while sound failed, she could still see the audience.
Reflecting on the "iconic night," Taylor thanked Jay-Z for the opportunity to share the stage. She wrote, "The gratitude was louder than any mic could ever be," noting her journey from Harlem to Yankee Stadium.
The "Extra Innings" finale featured a procession of A-list stars including Rihanna, Usher, and Pharrell Williams. These artists performed throughout the weekend, celebrating the cultural impact of Jay-Z's music in front of over 40,000 fans at Yankee Stadium.
