Students show support for classmate during ‘Drive Your Tractor to School’ day

On Friday, Talawanda High School students drove tractors to school to support classmate Wyatt French during the annual Drive Your Tractor event. The tradition took on deeper meaning this year following the senior's hospitalization.
French remains hospitalized after suffering serious injuries in a late February crash on Booth Road in Riley Township. The accident left him with conditions requiring ongoing hospital care.
Matching the color of French's favorite Oliver tractor, many students drove green tractors and wore green to the event. French is a proud member of the Future Farmers of America, making the gesture particularly meaningful.
Talawanda Principal Scott Davies reported receiving calls from across the country, including from Future Farmers of America groups nationwide. "There are a lot of people all across the country pulling for" French, Davies said.
The senior class forms a close-knit group that deeply values French's friendship and companionship. His peers continue sending prayers and support as he recovers from his injuries.
